Holistic Approaches to Personal Transformation
BodyTalk & MAP
Uncover Blocks, Create Change
When Your Body Holds What Your Mind Can’t Release
Stress, emotions and old patterns don’t just live in our thoughts. They can show up in how we feel physically and in how we respond to life. BodyTalk and MAP are two gentle approaches I use to help uncover what may be holding you back, so you can move forward with greater awareness, balance and choice.
Is This for You?
✓ You keep running into the same patterns, no matter how hard you try
✓ Stress or old emotions seem to show up in your body
✓ You feel stuck in your health, your relationships or your life
✓ Talk therapy has helped, but something still feels unresolved
✓ You’re ready to let go of what no longer serves you
You don’t have to stay stuck.
What to Expect
Connect
We start with a conversation about what’s troubling you, what you’d like to change and any patterns you’ve noticed.
Explore
Using BodyTalk, MAP or both, we look at what may be happening beneath the surface, in your body and in your subconscious.
Release
We work with the stress, emotional responses and patterns that come up, so they have less influence on how you feel and respond.
Integrate
We reflect on what came up and how it relates to your everyday life, along with practical steps to support your progress.
In Person or From Anywhere
Sessions are available at my office in Fort Myers, by Zoom or over the phone, so you can do this work from the comfort of home, wherever you live.
BodyTalk: first session 1½ hours, follow-up sessions 30 minutes
MAP: first session 1½ hours, follow-up sessions 1 hour
“Body Talk uses our own body to determine what needs healing. [Dr. Melinea Holman] has the patience, care, and knowledge to hear what our bodies are saying. She is the real deal.”

BodyTalk & MAP Questions, Answered
-
BodyTalk is a gentle, whole-person approach that focuses on communication and balance within the body. Over time, stress, injury and emotional experiences can disrupt how the body’s systems work together. Using a structured process, I identify which areas are under stress or out of balance, then use light tapping on the head and chest to help your body’s systems reconnect. I often use BodyTalk alongside holistic functional medicine.
-
MAP stands for Make Anything Possible. It’s a guided process for identifying and releasing subconscious patterns, emotional responses and limiting beliefs that may be keeping you feeling stuck. MAP is especially helpful when the same patterns keep showing up in your life, even when you know you want something different.
-
BodyTalk focuses on communication and balance within your body. MAP focuses on the subconscious beliefs and emotional patterns that shape how you react and respond. For example, if you come to me with digestive concerns, we may start with holistic functional medicine and BodyTalk. If we find you’re holding stress in your body, MAP can help us work at a deeper, subconscious level.
-
You don’t need to decide ahead of time. During your first visit, I’ll listen to your concerns and recommend the approach, or combination, that best fits your needs.
-
Every session is unique. We begin with a conversation about what’s been troubling you and what you’d like to change. From there, the MAP process helps us identify subconscious beliefs or emotional responses connected to your concern and work with the patterns that come up. We finish by reflecting on the session and how it relates to your daily life. You won’t be asked to relive difficult experiences or reach a particular realization. Each session unfolds at your own pace.
-
Yes. Both BodyTalk and MAP can be done by Zoom or over the phone, and remote sessions work just as well as in-person ones.
-
Your first BodyTalk or MAP session is 1½ hours. After that, BodyTalk sessions are 30 minutes and MAP sessions are 1 hour.
-
It depends on you. Your body and your goals guide the process. Some concerns shift in a single session, while others take time, since the body often needs time to rebalance.
-
Many clients leave with a sense of calm, balance and well-being. You may notice emotions coming to the surface for a day or two afterward, and many people sleep especially well as the body processes the session.
-
No. You don’t need to remember or explain when something began. BodyTalk and MAP help bring forward what’s relevant without you having to identify it yourself.
-
Yes. BodyTalk and MAP can complement talk therapy and medical care. They aren’t a replacement for either. Many clients find that this work helps them get more out of the other support they’re receiving.
-
Yes, children can safely do both BodyTalk and MAP. Parents are welcome to stay in the room during the session, unless the child feels more comfortable without them. Around age 13, many kids do best with a parent waiting outside.
